Digital Citizens Rising is an international eTwinning project designed to strengthen high school students’ digital literacy, empathy, democratic values, and active citizenship skills. The project brings together schools from different European countries and guides students to explore what it means to be a responsible and ethical digital citizen in today’s rapidly changing online world. Throughout the project, students participate in age-appropriate and engaging activities such as media literacy tasks, podcast creation, collaborative story writing, international teamwork, and community-oriented actions with younger learners. These activities help students express their voices, analyze information critically, understand diverse perspectives, and contribute positively to society. The project strongly emphasizes collaboration. Partner schools work together monthly through shared tasks, common digital products, online meetings, and mixed-team activities. The final outcomes include a joint e-book, an international podcast playlist, digital posters and student-created videos. “Digital Citizens Rising” aims to empower young people to use digital tools safely, creatively, and responsibly while embracing key European values such as empathy, democracy, and respect. This project supports students not only as learners but also as future active citizens of Europe.
